LATEST RELEASE: “RITMO ITALIANO“ (MR Bongo, 2025)
Gabriele Poso is an Italian percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose vibrant, rhythm-driven performances have captivated audiences worldwide.
In 2008, Poso releases his debut solo album “From The Genuine World” on the iconic label Yoruba Records, marking the beginning of a global career. In 2012, he became the musical director of Osunlade’s Yoruba Soul Orchestra and released his second solo album “Roots Of Soul“ on the German label INFRACom!, featuring international collaborators like Osunlade and Nailah Porter. The album earned critical acclaim and received multiple awards, including Best Jazz Independent Production 2012.
After a creative period in Berlin, Poso completed his third solo album “Invocation” (Agogo Records / !K7, 2014), entirely composed, performed, and produced by himself. The album was praised for its depth and authenticity, gaining support from tastemakers like Gilles Peterson.
In 2017, he made his BBE Records debut with the compilation “The Languages Of Tambores”, described by The Vinyl Factory as “ancestral, evocative, and visceral”—a spiritual journey through the cultural heritage of percussion. He followed it with the LP “Awakening” in 2018, a powerful reflection of both creative and personal transformation.
Since his debut, Gabriele has built an impressive catalog of solo releases and collaborations, alongside a dynamic international schedule of live performances and DJ sets.
Most recently, he released “Ritmo Italiano” on Mr. Bongo in June 2025 – a vibrant compilation celebrating Italian rhythm and groove. He also performed at Wonderfruit Festival in December 2024 and at Vivid Sydney in June 2025, continuing to bring his rhythmic rituals to global stages and diverse audiences.
Whether performing with his live band or delivering high-energy DJ sets, Poso transforms rhythm into a
universal language of connection.
A talent in full bloom, Poso’s live shows are full of energy, and his equatorial sound of the magical unspoken language of percussion and rhythm win over audiences all around the globe.
